1. Introduction

Welcome to Time Frame ("Time Frame," "we," "us," or "our"). We built this app to help you rediscover your favorite moments without compromising your privacy.

Because we believe your memories belong to you, our core philosophy is simple: What happens on your phone, stays on your phone. This Privacy Policy explains how our app accesses and processes your data to provide you with photo memory notifications and widgets, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws.

2. The "No Cloud" Guarantee

Time Frame is designed to function entirely offline. We do not upload, transfer, store or share your photos, videos, or personal data to any external servers, clouds, or third-party databases. All data processing required to curate your memories occurs locally on your device.

3. What Data We Access and Why

To function, the app requires access to certain information stored on your device. We only request permissions that are strictly necessary for the app to work (Data Minimization).

• Photo Gallery and Media Files: We require permission to read your device's photo and video gallery.
  Purpose: To select and display photos from previous years on your home screen widget and in notifications.
• Photo Metadata (EXIF Data): We access the metadata attached to your photos, which may include timestamps and location data
  Purpose: To group photos by specific dates (e.g., "On this day last year") or events.
• On-Device Facial/Object Recognition (If applicable): The app may use local algorithms to identify faces or scenes to create themed memories.
  Purpose: To provide curated, themed memory animations. Because this is considered sensitive biometric processing under the GDPR, it is strictly done locally on your device. We do not extract or export this data.

4. How Your Data is Processed

All sorting, analyzing, and animation generation happens locally on your smartphone's hardware. You remain the sole Data Controller of your personal images. Because we do not transmit your media over the internet, we do not have access to your photos at any time.

5. Third-Party Services and Analytics

Time Frame does not use third-party tracking software or advertising SDKs that harvest your personal data.

6. Your Rights Under GDPR

Because Time Frame does not collect or store your data on our servers, you are already in complete control of your data. However, under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Right to Access & Erasure: You can delete your data from the app at any time (there's a feature that allows you to delete any data related to this app directly from the settings) and/or by revoking the app's gallery permissions in your device settings or by uninstalling the app.
• Right to Withdraw Consent: You can turn off memory notifications, select which notifications you want or remove the widget at any time via your app or device settings.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes to how the app requests permissions or processes data, we will notify you within the app before those changes take effect (We don't have your data so... no email address to contact you, only in app notifications :))
